About Us
Bharat Academy & Sciences was established in 2003 under the aegis of ULUBERIA RURAL SOCIETY FOR CARE OF HEALTH & RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT (URSCHARD).
The Society was formed in 1995 with the objective of improving the quality of human lives through social and community welfare projects with special emphasis on imparting quality education.
The founder of the Trust/Society Prof.(Dr.) Rabindra Debnath, an educationist par excellence believes that there is no greater joy than “giving back to the community” and he resolved to start an educational hub in Uluberia, where the inhabitants did not have proper facilities catering to the educational needs of their children.
URSCHARD is a philanthropic organization which from its inception has undertaken various welfare projects & Bharat Academy & Sciences is a step towards illuminating the lives of a multitude by bringing quality education to their doorstep.

Education is the bedrock of social and economic development throughout history. Philosophers like Aristotle and Plato recognised the importance of education. Bharat Academy & Sciences for past few years has always been accompanying its students through the period of their evolution during which they mature in their identity, make some significant choices according to ethical criteria and acquire for themselves a first reflex vision of reality. Our institution aims at holistic development of a child so that he/ she may contribute his/ her knowledge for the progress of the society.

Established in 2003, the school is recognised by the School education Department, Government of West Bengal.
The School prepares it’s students for ICSE ( Secondary) and ISC ( Higher Secondary) Examinations conducted by CISCE New Delhi. The School is affiliated to Council for Indian School Certificate Examination New Delhi.

Our Mission is to blend the strong cultural fundamentals of the ‘Gurukul’ heritage and traditional systems with advanced learning tools, thus providing a new direction to education. At BAS we believe that education extends beyond academics.We wish to prepare our students to face challenges in day-to-day life. We believe we need to produce future leaders of the world who are compassionate at heart & are justified by their actions.
Our students, from polymorphic backgrounds unleashes the true potential in them with the opportunity to lead nations, communities, entrepreneurial ventures and so on. We must thus act as “igniters” and put in our best to mould the students’ emotion energy for the positive development of their attitude and behaviour.
The school logo symbolizes the reawakening of India though Education for all. The motto of the school “Education First” in a way depicts the “plinth of principles” on which the School is built. The Institution of located on National Highway-6 in Banitabla, Uluberia Howrah, West Bengal
By 2022 BAS plans to start Compulsory Vocational Training on Agri-Horticulture, Pottery, Cooking, Art and Craft and many more from middle school apart from the existing Clubs and House Activities. Apart from Chalk and Talk method the school emphasizes on skill-based learning, needs for life style training. The school has plans to transform itself into a Green School through the use of renewable energy resources.
